JargoNaut (“we,” “our,” or “the extension”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how JargoNaut handles information when you use our browser extension.
API Key Storage
- JargoNaut stores your OpenRouter API key locally in your browser’s storage
- This key never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us
- We have no access to your API key
No User Data Collection
- We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information
- We do NOT track your browsing activity
- We do NOT use analytics or tracking tools
- We do NOT store any history of posts you’ve analyzed
OpenRouter AI Service
- When you use JargoNaut to explain a post, the post text is sent to OpenRouter’s API
- This is necessary to generate the AI explanation
- OpenRouter processes this according to their privacy policy: https://openrouter.ai/privacy
- No identifying information about you is sent with the post text
Data Storage
- Your API key is stored locally using your browser’s built-in storage (Chrome Storage API / Safari Local Storage)
- All data remains on your device
- Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- You can clear your API key at any time through the extension popup
- You can uninstall the extension to remove all data
- You can request information about data practices by contacting us
Children’s Privacy
JargoNaut is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be posted with a new “Last Updated” date.
